Prince George Pride Society works not only for the community, but also with the community. All of our goals are achieved through the effort of individual volunteers, through collaboration with community organizations, and through financial support of local organizations and businesses.
Our main focus each year is Pride. Every year PG Pride organizes events for Pride Week, as well as our annual Pride Parade. The 2025 parade will mark 28 years of Pride Parades in Prince George!
Though sponsorship opportunities arise throughout the year, in the form of general donations, in-kind donations, and community collaboration for events, Pride is our largest undertaking.
Our goal during Pride is to be as inclusive and accessible as possible, we don't want cost to be a barrier to community involvement.
As the great and talented Liza Minelli sang, money makes the world go around. Everything we do costs money, and we don't want to pass those costs on individuals in the community. That means fundraising, and sponsorship.
Money may make the world go around, but money isn't everything! We can also use in-kind sponsorship, this could be in the form of materials, prize merch, venue space, or services.
We are passionate about what we do. If you are too, we do offer perks for becoming a Pride Sponsor. We use a tiered sponsorship model, and all in-kind sponsors get the same recognition as financial sponsors do - based on the value of the donation.
You'll get a big, big thanks from us, in the form of signage at the parade, on our social media, and here on our website. If you help us put on a Pride Week event, we'll give you a shoutout at the event, too! You could get free participation in the parade, or even a year's membership in the Society. Don't worry, we'll make it worth your while!
Pride is an integral cultural concept within the Two Spirited, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer/Questioning, Intersex, Asexual/Agender, and other (2SLGBTQIA+), community, representing solidarity, collectivity, and identity as well as resistance to discrimination and violence.
We understand that representation matters, that our community needs to feel represented, to be celebrated, to be seen and validated, to feel togetherness, and to feel safe.
Pride participation is vital to our community, but the support of allies is just as important. All support is welcome and encouraged, because Pride is fully inclusive.
