2011 Snowflake Ball & Hero AwardsNovember 25, 2011
At The Twisted Cork Social Awareness and Political Action are the building blocks of Social Change in communities and in 2003 a group of community members felt that the recognition of people standing up for the Queer Community was absent from our social activities and they wanted to change that and bring back sense of Pride and empowerment back into people. Too often Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals, Transgender, Two-Spirited and Questioning people are degraded and diminished in society’s eyes. We think that needs to change - we need to combat negative stereotypes and we need your help to do it. Let’s focus on the positive. So on November 25, 2011, Pride Prince George will be hosting the 8th Annual Snowflake Ball & Hero Awards to recognize and honour those people in our everyday lives who work hard to bring about awareness and change in our world.
